The majority of comments we have had area positive ones. For those of you who came to the conference last year we had a discussion and presentation about the logo where members could ask questions. Many of the comments above were aired and discussed. Sadly with a project like this we will never get 100% of people to agree to a significant change, but we are reassured that most of the feedback we've had wholeheartedly supports the new logo and look of the NCH.

I agree with the comments above regarding how the general public will view the logo. The old one was clear and straight forward but the new one seems a bit like when the Royal Mail changed their name to Consignia - and then changed it back again when they very quickly realised that Joe Public had absolutely no idea what it meant. Branding has to convey the idea we want to get across not leave it up the interpretation of the reader. Simply replace "With you in mind" with National Council for Hypnotherapy" or "Hypnotherapy working for you" or some such.

As for the black and white versions, basic image handling software such as Picassa will easily convert the provided image to B & W.

Another issue: As far as I can tell the EPS and TIFF versions are not of any use as images for printed work as they are only available as links not as editable images. The JPEG and PNG images can be used on documents as well as websites - just use Picassa (or similar) to manipulate the image sizes and colours

Hi Alan

We have no objection to you using the logo in black and white. We understand your reasons. I will ask the designers to produce the grayscale version but it might take a while.

Kind regards

The new logo looks really nice but I think I agree with Nick. However, there is another, important practical issue. For this year's Yellow Pages ad, I had to increase the size to get the CNHC logo in - more expense but worth it. I contacted the CNHC and got permission to use it in black and white, in Yellow Pages (and the local paper) because switching to a colour ad as well really would have been too expensive - thanks to CNHC for being so sensible. It took ages and many proofs to get Yell to get the ad right - but I thought, "Never mind,at least they can just repeat it next year" - and then you changed the logo. Oh well. I am resigned to having to change my ad again, however, can we please have a black and white/greyscale version for publications like Yellow Pages because the cost of colour advertising is so much higher. I'd really appreciate this. Thanks for all your hard work.

Hi Patricia

There is no DVD product yet. We're working on that. Currently it is only available to stream on-line. The reason you cannot order it is because you get the on-line version for free as you came to the Extravaganza which you can watch on this page.

There will be a DVD coming shortly which will NOT be provided free. This will be £24.99 and should be available in a week or two.

Hi - the website won't let me download or even order a DVD. Please will you supply me with a DVD at the members' rate?
Thanks,

Its a lovely logo but does it serve its purpose? I have shown it to several people and asked them for their comments. "Is it a charity?" they asked; "Something to do with mental health?" To work for me - and for the others I've sampled - it does need to say "National Council for Hypnotherapy". The old logo was more than a little old fashioned but at least a reader would instantly know what it represented. Too late to make a change?
