CPD Event title: Working with Insomnia
Brief Description Of Event: Insomnia and sleep deprivation can be a serious problem for clients, whether it is the issue that causes them to seek out your services or a by-product of it. Helping clients to sleep better will improve their clarity of mind, memory, health, anxiety and depression levels and general well-being. This home study course will take you through everything you need to know to help clients with sleep issues more effectively.
Learning Objectives: – understand what sleep is exactly, and what purpose it serves
– identify a variety of lifestyle issues that can contribute to a lack of sleep and how life-style choices can be made more sleep-friendly
– become familiar with health issues that can exacerbate or cause sleeplessness, and how therapy can help
– become familiar with evidence-based programmes and other techniques to help clients experiencing sleep issues
Course Structure: This is a home study course – on enrolment you are sent a workbook and a set of notes. The notes are thorough and informative, and also include slideshows, practical activities for you to carry out to consolidate your learning, links to wider reading and resources such as handouts and scripts to use with clients. As you read through them, you complete questions in the workbook to show you have understood the material, then send that back to us for evaluation and feedback.
The course is free, and offers free support and pdf-style certification, on condition that you complete it within three months of receiving it.
