Children respond amazingly well to hypnotherapy, and there is a huge and growing demand for suitably qualified hypnotherapists. Working effectively with children requires a very different skillset, and practitioners need to ensure they are working ethically and legally with their younger clients. KidsMatters™ provides you with comprehensive training and with a range of resources including recordings, written and online resources. More and more schools are teaching children mindfulness and relaxation, and KidsMatters™ responds to this growing awareness of children’s needs, whilst providing you with the skills to work with groups and individuals. You will be asked to complete two case studies following the course, which will be marked. You will qualify for two Skype supervision sessions, and informal supervision for six months following the course.
Learning Objectives: 1) You will learn how to practice with children – and their parents – in a supportive, safe, ethical manner:
Ethics and legal requirements
Team working with parents
2) You will learn how to structure a sessions to a child’s needs:
Using play and art therapy
Solution focused questioning
Utilising therapeutic time effectively
3) You will learn techniques which have been specifically designed to ensure great results with children including:
NLP anchors – creating superheros!
Metaphors & clean language
4) You will learn how to apply these techniques to a range of common issues including:
Course Structure: The course is spread over two days. Each day will start at 10.00 and finish at 16.00 with a break for lunch at 12.30. Lunch is optional and can be purchased in advance for a an additional cost of £7.50
The first day will cover ethics, legal requirements, play and art therapy, working with parents and how to use hypnotic inductions with children and self-hypnosis. The second day will explore NLP, metaphors and clean language, CBT and storytelling and demonstrate how these techniques can be put into practice with a range of common issues.
You will be asked to complete two case studies following the course, which will be marked. You will qualify for two Skype supervision sessions, and informal supervision for six months following the course.
