Mechanical Horses

Based in a purpose-built workshop, I have two life sized mechanical horses, “Sir Trotalot” and “Gallopy”.  Both horses allow the riders to practice and develop their position and riding skills for flatwork, dressage, jumping and fast work, with various speeds at each pace.

Lessons

Lessons with your horse or pony

I work across Sussex, Kent and Surrey teaching lessons in groundwork, flatwork, dressage and jumping. My aim is to develop the partnership between horse and rider in a positive and progressive way.

Lessons build from where you are now to what you would like to achieve.  My focus is on developing the riders’ awareness of their position and how to then be able to make positive changes to how their horse is working, giving you clear explanations and exercises for you to continue to develop between lessons..

Biomechanics and Pilates

Biomechanics Assessments and Pilates

The rider’s position in the saddle hugely affects the horse’s way of going and the freedom and quality of its paces.

Pilates improves body awareness, balance, tone, core stability and co-ordination.  Correct body alignment enables the rider to absorb the movements of their horse or pony with an independent seat and light hands.

Becoming more aware of your individual patterns of movement enables you to make relevant corrections to your posture resulting in a healthier body overall.

Imagine giving someone a piggy-back and how it affects your movement if they are sitting crookedly, or leaning back, and that when they are balanced you can move more easily...

Coaching For Confidence

Coaching for Confidence and Performance

Confidence as a rider takes time to build but can be lost in an instant.  These emotions are not restricted to humans, but also perceived and communicated to your horse and can affect their confidence in you.
