Overview

Transcendence.site is the online hypnotherapy and CBT-informed practice of Ian Robertson, offering calm, structured support for people who want to change patterns that have become difficult to shift alone.

My background includes engineering, software systems, and long-term yoga practice. That shapes the way I work: practical, structured, privacy-conscious, and attentive to the relationship between mind, body, habits, and environment.

The practice has been built with privacy and containment in mind. Online sessions are held through a dedicated video portal rather than general-purpose services such as Zoom, WhatsApp, or Google Meet. Client forms, booking, session access, and reflections are handled through the practice site, so the therapeutic work stays in one clear, purpose-built setting rather than being scattered across consumer platforms.

My approach combines hypnotherapy, CBT-informed reflection, and practical therapeutic structure. I work with issues such as anxiety, stress, confidence, habits, unwanted patterns of behaviour, digital dependency, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions.

The work is not about treating you as broken. Sometimes old coping strategies, habits, or protective patterns simply stop working as well as they once did. The aim is to give you enough structure to notice what matters, while keeping the work private, bounded, and human.

Hypnotherapy works best as a two-person process: the therapist guides, but the client’s own willingness, attention, and insight are central to the work.
