We've all got stress in their lives, it's just that stress affects each one of us differently.
For one person it may surface through uncomfortable emotions like anxiety, fears, sadness, anger, guilt and depression. For another it might result in 'bad' habits like smoking, over-eating, or nail-biting.
Someone else may experience mental and emotional blocks in their ability to perform as well as they'd like at work, school or sports.
For some people, long-term stress will eventually develop into physical problems. Fatigue, forgetfulness, hopelessness, depression, physical tension, persistent pain, emotional pain and chronic illness all have links to internal stress.
Everyone is dealing with some sort of problem they want to change so that they can feel better, and typically these problems are;
Weight problems - Relationship problems - Money problems - Motivation problems - Mid life crisis - Self-esteem problems - Performance problems - Health problems - Sleep problems - Emotional problems...
The point is that these are just symptoms and not the real problem, the real problem is how we feel and how we deal with stress.

When we're stressed we feel irritable and anxious. When stressful feelings have nowhere to go, it feels bad. Over time, the pressure builds up inside. Stress saps our energy, and when the pressure gets too great it gets vented out - often in ways we don't like. So we end up feeling even more upset and the cycle continues
You may be surprised to learn that you're not upset for the reasons you think!
We're enter this world programmed to feel good and avoid feeling bad. As a result we naturally avoid dealing with stressful and difficult situations, so instead of dealing with the bad feeling we self-medicate and distract through food, alcohol, gambling, tobacco, television, shopping, etc, all in an attempt to feel some relief.
The problem with these distractors or 'bad' habits is the negative side effects.
Eating too much results in weight gain. Smoking too much can lead to serious health issues. Shopping too much can generate unwanted debt and when the emotional high of these wear off, we end up feeling bad about ourselves, and the cycle of eating, smoking... etc begins again.
When we feel bad about ourselves we become our own worst enemy. We sabotage our successes and relationships with others. We lose sleep over the small stuff and procrastinate on the important stuff. We worry and complain and beat ourselves up.
If you want to create lasting change, you must change how you feel. If you believe that a significant shift needs to happen today, and if you are willing to work with your feelings, then you can change your life and start feeling better about yourself. And when you feel good about you, you naturally begin to make healthier choices and behave in ways that are aligned with what you want. Because changing your life begins in your mind
