'Professional therapy with a caring approach' sums up what I do. I have been in practice as a qualified hypnotherapist for 30 years. The methods I use in my therapy practice enable you to access your own inner resources for positive and healthy change in a relaxing, gentle way, tailored to your individual needs and experiences. I am registered by the CNHC (the UK regulator for complementary healthcare) and am on the NCH register of accredited supervisors.
As a supervisor I aim to establish a collaborative working relationship in which the therapist can review and reflect on their practice in a safe environment and to facilitate the supervisee to develop their own awareness, skills and knowledge, whilst being supported and developing confidence to meet their clients' needs effectively. As an experienced therapist, I get tremendous benefit from working with my own supervisor and continuing to develop; I truly believe that all therapists, at all levels of experience, can benefit from supervision.
A graduate member of the British Psychological Society, both my therapy and supervision practice are also informed by 30+ years experience as a a trainer and educator, latterly mainly in health education and health improvement. I have been a trainer in the NHS where I trained health professionals on courses such as ‘Helping People Change’ and ran courses in sexual health and also stress management. My stress management sessions appear in the ‘Health for Life’ and ‘Real Health for Real Lives’ series of books used in schools.
Whether working with therapy clients or supervising other therapists, I enjoy helping people to make the changes they want for themselves.
