⭐ 17 May, 2026 – Unlocking the Neuroscience of Obesity

CPD Event title: Unlocking the Neuroscience of Obesity

Brief Description Of Event:

This newly-updated CPD explores the neuroscience behind obesity, and shows how a Solution Focused approach can empower clients to achieve their weight management goals.

This newly-updated CPD explores the neuroscience behind obesity, and shows how a Solution Focused approach can empower clients to achieve their weight management goals.

The course will  strengthen your Solution Focused Hypnotherapy practice by providing a clear, neuroscience-informed understanding of obesity that aligns naturally with SFH principles. You will gain greater confidence in working with clients around weight, food and self-regulation without relying on willpower. By understanding how the brain adapts to stress, reward and habit formation, you will be better equipped to explain change compassionately, respond ethically to client questions, and apply future-focused hypnotherapy interventions that support lasting, neurologically grounded change.

By the end of this workshop, participants will:

  • Understand obesity as a neurobiological adaptation, not a failure of willpower
  • Identify key brain systems involved in appetite, craving and weight regulation
  • Understand recent neuroscience updates relevant to hypnotherapy practice
  • Confidently apply neuroscience-informed Solution Focused Hypnotherapy interventions

Course Content

This workshop explores obesity through a modern neuroscience lens, moving beyond willpower-based explanations to understand how brain, body and environment interact to influence eating behaviour and weight regulation. Designed specifically for Solution Focused Hypnotherapists, the training translates up-to-date neuroscience into clear, practical insights that support ethical, compassionate and effective therapeutic work with clients around weight, food and self-regulation.

Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how appetite, craving, stress and habit formation are regulated by the brain — and how Solution Focused Hypnotherapy naturally supports neuroplastic change.

Course Content Includes:

  • Obesity as a neurobiological adaptation rather than a failure of self-control
  • Key brain systems involved in hunger, satiety, reward and motivation
  • The neuroscience of craving, emotional eating and habit formation
  • Stress, the nervous system and their impact on eating behaviour
  • Neuroplasticity and how lasting change occurs in the brain
  • Why willpower-based approaches often fail under stress
  • How hypnotherapy supports learning, self-regulation and future-focused change
  • A clear, non-promotional neurological explanation of weight-loss injections for client questions
  • Ethical and compassionate language for working with weight-related issues

The importance of Neuroscience and Obesity is why this CPD is also an integral part of the Advanced Hypnotherapy Diploma course (AHD).
