CPD Event title: Solution Focused Goals
Brief Description Of Event:
Setting realistic, achievable goals with clients is paramount to relationship building, and helping them to be clear on what they want to achieve and how to know when things are improving. Solution Focused goal setting is a strength based approach to agreeing on expectations, and exploring what is helpful and ‘exceptions to the problem’ to empower them to work collaboratively with you to resolve issues. It’s an effective tool for exploring a better future, building coping strategies, reducing harm, measuring progress, and an empowering one for helping therapists plan interventions and sessions. Using this method will help with identifying personalised inductions and deepeners as a bonus!
Learning Objectives:
explore the solution focused scaling tool and practice using it
– understand how it fits with SMART goals
– learn about the origins from Brief Solution Focused Therapy
– understand how solution focused work fits so well with Hypnotherapy
– learn about the language of solution focused therapeutic techniques
– learn how to set clear, realistic SMART goals in a 5 min session, or a whole session
