CPD Event title: Rewind Technique Training
Brief Description Of Event: Following the recent results of an RCT into the rewind technique as practiced by its founder Dr David Muss, which we were delighted to see showed “a large effect size in treating symptoms of PTSD” in the participants there has been a lot of interest in the technique. With over 20 years experience of teaching the rewind technique in-person to health and welfare professionals, we have long recognised that this is a powerfully effective, non-intrusive technique – but also that it is one which needs to implemented with care to avoid embedding any trauma further, or making a phobia worse.
Learning Objectives: Our 2-day workshop has therefore been deliberately designed to ensure you have enough time to not only see the technique demonstrated and experience it yourself, but to thoroughly absorb and practice it in a small group with a skilled and highly experienced tutor who can guide you through the steps involved, oversee you as you practise them, answer your questions and give you crucial direct feedback so that you leave the training confident in using the rewind technique and knowing how to do so safely and effectively with clients. The version of the rewind technique we teach has been refined in line with
understandings from neuroscience to make it as safe and reliably effective as possible – and you will also learn when it is NOT appropriate to use this technique.
